It was a dream that was more than a year in the making.
The James Burton Studio opened today in downtown Shreveport. The facility bears the name of the great guitarist who played alongside the likes of Elvis Presley, John Denver and many others.
Hundreds of people turned out for the ribbon cutting ceremony.
The event included performances by the music class from A.C. Steere Elementary School and other local bands.
The facility is state of the art and allows anybody who wants to come through to record their music.
Burton says one main purpose of the studio is to promote music for the next generation.”Its important that we keep our music alive and its the universal language of the world and I don’t think we could go a day without good music,” says Burton.Burton also plans to build a museum next to the studio in the near future.
