The Foundation recently shipped guitars to rural Georgia in response to a support request. Your donations made this possible.
Randy Young, at Thomas County Central High School in Thomasville GA, teaches a media production course that includes music recording and engineering. While support is adequate for some parts of the program, he lacked instruments so he contacted the Foundation.
Because Thomas County School serves a rural area, and many students come from poverty-stricken homes, Randy opens the studio doors to the community, area churches and their praise bands, many of which feature the high school students as musicians. Randy will use the new guitars in his course, and allow the students to use them as needed outside the school. Randy says, ‘I so appreciate what the James Burton Foundation does to promote music education for young people. This is a prayer answered, not only for our school kids, but also for many kids in the Thomasville community.’
The Foundation thanks Randy Young for his efforts in support of music education in Thomas County Central High School and the Thomasville Community.
