On February 17th, James was presented with The Ameripolitan Music “Founder of the Sound” award in Austin, Texas. Ameripolitan Music is a music Genre with prominent roots influence. It is broken into four related subcategories: Honky Tonk, Western Swing, Rockabilly and Outlaw. Artists and bands can fall into one or more of these categories. Musical and lyrical creativity is critical but to be considered Ameripolitan music, it must retain some of these traditional elements as well. James was awarded for being an influence on many Ameripolitan players and a pioneer of some of those sounds. James is truly honored.

Also, in January, Vintage Guitar Magazine’s readers voted James into Vintage Guitar’s Hall of Fame. This being voted on by readers and fans, the award means a great deal to James. http://www.vintageguitar.com
